Have you ever had one of those days when it seems like you have everything to do but there is not enough time in the day to get it all done. That is what my past few weeks have been like. Everyday when my alarm goes off at 7 a.m. my day has been planed to a tee. With class load and homework I have been able to schedule in about 1 hour of free time it seems. While my life seems to be extremely busy I am not alone. The common topic of students seems to be the amount of work that is due in each class, second most common conversation would be the break that is right around the corner. While everyone is busy, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
With what little free time I have I have been trying to catch up on sleep haha. This past weekend it was nice to relax and have a day when it is not completely planned out. Sleeping in and watching Saturday morning cartoons was just was I needed! Now that this weekend is over I am looking forward to the upcoming break. While I will still be staying on campus and working I am still looking forward to the break from classes. I am also very excited for the Thanksgiving weight that I plan to put on from eating to much! I am also looking forward to the time to see my family, all my brothers and sisters and all my cousins!
While I am been looking forward to the upcoming holiday it has hit me that this semester is almost over. Each day there is one less class session, there is one less assignment due, and one last test to take before I have to start new classes in the spring. It seems that just as soon as I am getting into a groove it is time to start all over. Even though it took my about three weeks to get everything straightened out I am still looking forward to the start of new classes!

Changing Seasons
It seems like time is going so fast. Each day is another day of November is gone, and another day closer to the New Year. When you think about the New Year you think about new resolutions, new experiences, and basically anything else that will be new. While I am excited for the new things of a new year I think about how fast things seem to be changing. It hit me today that two years from now I will be student teaching and the following fall after that I will have my very own grown up person job. It might seem kinda crazy to be thinking that far into the future but I have never really been one to just be thinking about the here and now. :)
As the days seem to be ticking away, they seem to be taking the warm weather with them. I very much enjoy this weather; that is if it would be about 10 degrees warmer. However, I will not complain because very soon I will be wishing for a cool breezy day compared to the snow blizzard like conditions of an Ohio winter. Oh the joys of winter, can't wait (insert sarcasm). Along with the disappearing days classes are also coming close to the end. Each day we are one day closure to being done with the semester. And you know what that means, “crunch time”. Here at Bluffton "crunch time" is the time in the semester that all the professors get together and talk about how they can torture their students. Just kidding! But it seems that all the professors are trying to get as much in because final exams are just right around the corner. For example, this up coming Friday I have two test one day the following week three lab reports due, and three more tests. Awesome!
Considering everything that is going on with classes and life on campus, I am appreciative for the time I have. Even though it may not be much time, it is still enough to either take a nap or visit a friend. I have found that it is the little things that will keep you sane during these changing seasons!

One Day at a Time
So much has been going on these past few weeks. Last week was Halloween (favorite holiday), and several events happening on campus. Big shot out to the Bluffton University volleyball team for being crowned the champions of the HCAC and hosting the tournament this weekend. I'm excited to see my friends play because I know how much hard work and time they have put into this season! For the last home game versus our rival Defiance student senate (which I am a part of) put on a "Black Out". It was good to see students come out and support the volleyball team and see how awesome the girls played!
Other then events on campus classes have also picked up. Every class seems to have about two or three things dew each week, and I have a firm belief that all the professors get together and decide to schedule all their tests at the same time. Its crazy how one week everything is full of tests, quizes and projects while others have just notes and homework. Having reached and passed the half way point of this semester is crazy to think that in only a few weeks half my sophomore year is over. It seems like I just moved in and still getting back into the swing of things.
Something that I have learned other then the difference between a Bronsted base and a Lewis acid (thank you Dr. Burger) is that life is hard and the best thing to do is to take life one day at a time. While it freaks me out because I like to have everything planned out, life is to unpredictable to have everything set in stone. So for now I have a direction on where I would like things to go, but the way I get there is subject to change and I'm ok with that :)
The journey there is part of the fun!

Taking a Time Out
Hello all,
I want to apologize for my absence from the blogging world but things have been a little crazy. This past week proved to be one of the most event filled and busiest weeks of my life here at Bluffton. With lab reports due, tests, quizzes and meetings galore it seemed as if I was going from 8 in the morning until I would get to bed around to. Looking back on the last week with all the craziness I realized that sometimes its best to take a break. And what a break I took. After my classes ended on Friday I took the weekend to recover from the busy week. Saturday turned into my new day of rest. While I could have been working on papers and homework for the next week I thought it would be a better idea to catch up on sleep.
Other then catching up on rest from the past week, it has also been a crazy week for events happening on campus. This past week was Spiritual Life Week on campus. From concerts to cookie carry-ins to a battle of the air bands the week proved to be eventful and full of fellowship with other students. While I was not able to attend all of the events for the week, the ones I did attend proved to be very enjoyable.
Through everything that has happened I have realized how important it is to take time out for myself. With everything that is going on its good to just find twenty minutes if that is all I can spare to just sit and rest and not worry about anything. While things seem to get more and more crazy I will remember to just take a break to recharge my batteries so I am ready for whatever might be thrown my way!

Crazy Times
Hello all you bloggers out there!
I know it has been awhile since my last post, but let me explain why. Life has been getting from busy, to busier, to busiest. From a break from school that was not near long enough, to an awesome homecoming week of attending events and helping out when I could, to now a week of testing and other fun stuff. This year has been a bit more busy and fast then my first year was here at Bluffton. Last year I was always able to take time out of my day and spend it napping or finding some way to relax. This year I am lucky if I have 30 minutes to myself. Don't get me wrong I love everything I do, it has just taken me this long to realize that I can not do all these things on my own. In this time of great stress and all these different activities going on, I have really turned to the word for comfort. Helping know that everything is going to be all right and that no matter what happens there is someone in the end who will still love just as I am.
On another note, I feel like I am getting old very fast. One of my good friends recently got engaged. While she is a senior it has still not fully hit me as to how time seems to pass here at school. I use to think that I would be here forever, but now I have started to realize that time here is short so I should enjoy everything while I can. Even though some classes may not be enjoyable, or even easy I am still going to take it because this is the only time I will be given this opportunity.
Something I do have control over is my attitude to take life one day at a time. Everyday is a gift and I intend to unwrap it and be pumped about the shinny new day that I am given. Life may not always make sense, but its the little things like friends, family and the adventure of tomorrow that make it bearable.
New song that everyone should listen to is Fireflies by Owl City. I think you'll like it! :)

Bright Ideas and Somthing New!
Sooooooooo if you have been reading my blog you may have noticed that I was using song titles for the titles of my post of that day. Well as fun as that was, I have decided to mix things up and just have either fun messages or sayings as the titles of my posts. I will also be mixing up how I will write my posts. Writing about different things that have happened, highlights of the week, and something that I found to be a must for that week. I hope you will enjoy these changes! :)
This week is going AWESOME! Filled with meetings, classes and work. What more could a college student ask for. I have started reading a new book called "Extreme Encounters". Each day of the week has a bible verse followed by some words of wisdom. I have found that its a good way to start my day. With that book, some Relient K and a cup of coffee I am ready for my day!!!
A big highlight for this week so far; Student Senate worked and got clocks put in every classroom on campus. For me, it feels good to do something for the student body. Even though its nothing that big, it still gives me hope that as a senate we will be able to do things for the students.
My new favorite thing for this week would have to be listening to the country music group Rascal Flatts.
I hope that everyone has had a great start to your week and that you have an even better finish!!!

Thats What I Love About Sundays
After a long week of meetings, being on duty, schoolwork and other events it feels nice to have a morning to sleep in and catch up and rest. Some people say that the life of a college student consists of late nights and early mornings, and lots of socializing in between. Well they were right about the light nights and early mornings. For me, it seems that whenever I have a morning off I seem to fill it with something. For example, Thursdays are my only day where I can sleep in until I have work at 12. Luck me I schedule a meeting time at 8 a.m. Thank goodness for coffee and bagels.
While it may seem hard at times, my time is being filled with constructive activities which gives me a positive attitude. I am also very thankful for my most amazing friends in the world. With all the craziness I have going on I am blessed that they are there to help pull me away from the craziness of classes and meetings. Whether its hanging out and having Harry Potter movie nights, having game nights, random Taco Bell runs at 12 a.m., or just being there to talk helps to brighten my day.
Also in the mix of classes and craziness I have found highlights. This past Friday night I was co-chair of a Marbeck After Dark event for MCB. The event was a photo scavenger hunt, and even though not very many people attended, the event was still a lot of fun and a success. Something I am looking forward to is a day of spending playing sand volleyball and a night spent bonding with my fellow res life staff.
As crazy as life may seem I take comfort in the bible verse talking about "worrying about today" and "God will not give us more then we can handle". It comforts me in the fact that no matter what happens, everything will be ok. Have a great Sunday!

I Gotta Feelin
This past weekend was both eventful and fun. With the classes now in full swing, it was nice to have a weekend without stress and to just relax. MCB, Marbeck Center Board, hosted an event for students on Friday night. The event was a midnight viewing of the movie "Star Trek", that was just for Bluffton students. While the even was not super huge it was still nice to hang out with my friends and watch an AWESOME movie! Saturday was a day of ups and down. While the Buckeyes weren't able to pull off the big V, it was still a good time to watch the game with friends and eat popcorn and play random games with the residents on my floor. After a long night of being on duty it was nice to sleep in and catch up on sum much needed rest. After returning from a trip home, there is nothing I wanted to do more then play some sand volleyball for the afternoon.
Now that the weekend is coming to an end its time for me to dive right back into classes and homework. But while I will be working on complex chemical structures I will be blaring the Black Eyed Peas in anticipation of next weekend :)

Here It Goes Again
As the days are winding down until the start of class, I start to think back to everything that happened this summer. Working at a summer camp has given me a different perspective on things than what I had as a first year student last year. Having now finished Resident Advisor training, and finally completing my floor decs I am now ready for the freshman to move in. Not only I am looking forward to the new freshmen, but I am also greatly looking forward to the return of my college friends. Emailing and texting are not the same as talking to them in person. I am ready for the campus to become alive again. For the first few days I was here it seemed almost depressing because the campus seemed dead. After this weekend everything will be back to normal. Along with changing resident hall, and getting a new job it will also be different this year because some individuals will not be back. Some of my friends either graduating or transferring schools, it will not be the same without them here.
Even with all the changes and how different this year will be compared to last year, I say “bring it on!”

Hide and Seek
Well I have officially finished my first year of college and now completely moved back into the rents homestead. This past weekend I put a lot of thought into how I could describe both the happy and sad feels that I felt. I am excited that it is summer and absolutely beautiful outside, but at the same time I am sad that I am no longer living on campus and I will not see many people for about 4 months, and some not at all (aka people transferring or graduating). As I was thinking about how to describe these feelings I was reminded of the song by our good friend Vitamin C (the singer not that pill that tastes like oranges). "As we go on we remember all the times we spent together, and as our lives change come whatever we will still be friends forever". As cheesy as it sounds it is very true. So that is why I have decided to do (drum roll please) CLETE'S MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS OF FRESHMAN YEAR 2008-09!!!! Exciting, I know :)
10.) Late nights in Shoker Science Center!
9.) Screaming ninjas orientation weekend (future students you will have the first hand knowledge of this when you move it)
8.) Tennis ball golf (even though I never won it was really fun)
7.) Bowling in the halls
6.) Midnight Wal-Mart trips
5.) Homecoming (dinner and the dance)
4.) The ever changing color of my hair
3.) "Date night" :)
2.) Scream night = staying up all night to watch 3 of the best teen slashers ever made, then running around campus at 4 in the morning acting like the killer haha
And the winner is..........................
1.) The lumberjack challenge (questions about what this event is just ask!!!)
While it is still hard to believe that this year is already over I am looking forward even more to August when I get to go back to Bluffton University for another fun filled year.

High of 75
So this past weekend has been certainly one to remember. With the clock ticking until the end of the year it seems that all the students on campus are trying to squeeze every second of fun into the last moments of this school year. For my senior friends there time here at Bluffton is almost over for good. While I am thankful that I have three years left, I am still excited for my senior year when I take my first steps into the real world!
While the dark cloud that is EXAMS have been looming over our heads it did not stop students from having fun this weekend. While the high this week was actually in the 80s it was still nice to be outside and have some fun in the sun. Whether playing tennis, frisbee, corn hole, or even swimming this weekend has helped to relieve the stress of the dark cloud. So while summer is just around the corner and for my first year here at Bluffton has definitely been one for the record books. While summer good byes are hard and no one really wants to do them, it makes me look forward to that special time next year when we all come back to good ol' Bluffton University to once again further our education (which really means have a wicked good time with friends) :)

That Fresh Feeling
This is the start of my blog here at Bluffton University so let me tell you a little bit about myself. Hi.....(handshake) my name is Clete Louis Stechschultle III (not really the third but it sounds cool) I am a first year student here at Bluffton University and I am majoring in Biology and AYA Education focusing in a Life Sciences, which is just a cool way of saying that I am going to be a high school science teacher. A little more personal stuff about me is that I'm kinda a sweet person and I draw people in with my personality ;)
Through my blogging I am hoping to give people a look inside what "The Real World" is of Bluffton University. You may have guess that I am obsessed with the Real World but I am also obsessed with anything else that you can watch on MTV or VH1. So I hope that you not only enjoy my blogging but I hope that you continue to read and see what life at Bluffton is really like.
Have an awesome day!!!
