Bright Ideas and Somthing New!

Sooooooooo if you have been reading my blog you may have noticed that I was using song titles for the titles of my post of that day. Well as fun as that was, I have decided to mix things up and just have either fun messages or sayings as the titles of my posts. I will also be mixing up how I will write my posts. Writing about different things that have happened, highlights of the week, and something that I found to be a must for that week. I hope you will enjoy these changes! :)

This week is going AWESOME! Filled with meetings, classes and work. What more could a college student ask for. I have started reading a new book called "Extreme Encounters". Each day of the week has a bible verse followed by some words of wisdom. I have found that its a good way to start my day. With that book, some Relient K and a cup of coffee I am ready for my day!!!

A big highlight for this week so far; Student Senate worked and got clocks put in every classroom on campus. For me, it feels good to do something for the student body. Even though its nothing that big, it still gives me hope that as a senate we will be able to do things for the students.

My new favorite thing for this week would have to be listening to the country music group Rascal Flatts.

I hope that everyone has had a great start to your week and that you have an even better finish!!!

Thats What I Love About Sundays

After a long week of meetings, being on duty, schoolwork and other events it feels nice to have a morning to sleep in and catch up and rest. Some people say that the life of a college student consists of late nights and early mornings, and lots of socializing in between. Well they were right about the light nights and early mornings. For me, it seems that whenever I have a morning off I seem to fill it with something. For example, Thursdays are my only day where I can sleep in until I have work at 12. Luck me I schedule a meeting time at 8 a.m. Thank goodness for coffee and bagels.

While it may seem hard at times, my time is being filled with constructive activities which gives me a positive attitude. I am also very thankful for my most amazing friends in the world. With all the craziness I have going on I am blessed that they are there to help pull me away from the craziness of classes and meetings. Whether its hanging out and having Harry Potter movie nights, having game nights, random Taco Bell runs at 12 a.m., or just being there to talk helps to brighten my day.

Also in the mix of classes and craziness I have found highlights. This past Friday night I was co-chair of a Marbeck After Dark event for MCB. The event was a photo scavenger hunt, and even though not very many people attended, the event was still a lot of fun and a success. Something I am looking forward to is a day of spending playing sand volleyball and a night spent bonding with my fellow res life staff.

As crazy as life may seem I take comfort in the bible verse talking about "worrying about today" and "God will not give us more then we can handle". It comforts me in the fact that no matter what happens, everything will be ok. Have a great Sunday!

I Gotta Feelin

This past weekend was both eventful and fun. With the classes now in full swing, it was nice to have a weekend without stress and to just relax. MCB, Marbeck Center Board, hosted an event for students on Friday night. The event was a midnight viewing of the movie "Star Trek", that was just for Bluffton students. While the even was not super huge it was still nice to hang out with my friends and watch an AWESOME movie! Saturday was a day of ups and down. While the Buckeyes weren't able to pull off the big V, it was still a good time to watch the game with friends and eat popcorn and play random games with the residents on my floor. After a long night of being on duty it was nice to sleep in and catch up on sum much needed rest. After returning from a trip home, there is nothing I wanted to do more then play some sand volleyball for the afternoon.

Now that the weekend is coming to an end its time for me to dive right back into classes and homework. But while I will be working on complex chemical structures I will be blaring the Black Eyed Peas in anticipation of next weekend :)
